Why Your Patients’ Data Never Leaves Canada

Tasrif’s infrastructure—the database, the encryption keys, the transcription service, and the AI that drafts notes—runs entirely on Amazon Web Services’ Canada (Central) region. Not the US. Not the EU. Canada.

Why that’s a deliberate choice and not a footnote: Shared Health Manitoba’s own AI Scribe Usage Guidelines expect patient data to stay within Canada. That’s a stricter bar than PHIA technically requires on its own, but it’s the operational standard the health system here has actually set—and a patient trusting a clinic with their health information shouldn’t have to wonder which country’s laws might reach it.

A tool built somewhere else and pointed at the Canadian market afterward has to retrofit this. We didn’t have to—it was the starting assumption, not an add-on.
